Parents visa of Australia

  • 1. Visa Application Form- you need to out a visa application form provided by the consulate of the country you are applying to. This form can be downloaded from their official website.

  • 2. Sponsorship- You must be sponsored by an eligible child who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. Your sponsoring child must be willing to provide financial and other support for your stay in Australia.

  • 3. Balance of Family tree- You must meet the balance of family test, which requires that at least half of your children live permanently in Australia, or more of your children live permanently in Australia than in any other single country.

  • 4. Health requirements- You and all family members included in your application must meet the health and character requirements. This may involve undergoing medical examinations and obtaining police clearance certificates.

  • 5. Financial Support- You may have access to sufficient funds to support yourself and accompanying family members in Australia. Your sponsoring child may need to provide an Assurance of Support.

  • 6. Documents- This may include your passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate, evidence of your relationship with your sponsoring child, evidence of financial capacity, health assessments, and police clearance certificates.

  • 7. Biometrics and interviews- Depending on your circumstances, you may be required to provide biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) and attend an interview as part of the visa application process.

  • 8. Processing Time- Parent visa applications can have long processing times, so it's essential to apply well in advance of your intended travel date.
